Light sat down in a lab wing she literally built in about five minutes after breaking into the lab. She was programming her computer to be on a separate server from the rest. While she would assist in helping them. She didn't plan on sharing any of her own projects. Her current form was something she built in one of the development pods in the main lab, used to make the Machina. The detail put into it would take the average mad scientist years. But she was fast enough, even in her original form, to cut that time down to two minutes. It helped that she knew exactly what she was doing. So it was a matter of just putting it all together.

The damned balance god would find no issue with this one. Since my real body exists in this fake one.

Hotaru was able to convert herself to light. This body was designed to keep her main body as this light yet transfer her consciousness to the brain. If anything bad happened to the body's core, both would be ejected and she would revert to her normal self.

Hotaru didn't wait for and answer and attempted to strike him down with a lightning bolt.

The lightning struck an invisible barrier.

Using electric attacks in a lab full of sensitive machinery. Your not very smart, are you? A Pikachu would have more common sense. An a better attack. They really need to strop hiring so many lame weirdos already. Anyway, I don't have a mom. Me an my siblings were all built in pods. Thankfully. 

He plopped down in a chair.

An I'm a BOY, idiot. Blame my designer for having freaky tastes. At least I don't have fuzzy ears or look like cupid.

Dai rolled his chair closer so he could see what Light had on her computer.

Light shot a bolt at some of her random equipment and nothing happened. She tapped her head implying she's a step ahead.

Now you I like! Your barrier has a minor weakness. Had I used light instead, you would have taken a hit. Make your barriers using a mirror shade or shade them black. Then it will be almost flawless. And use x-ray to see in the instances you do. Do that and it will be almost perfect. Like this. 

Hotaru coated her hand in a similar barrier and then shaded it black. She used her free hand to blast the barrier in her other hand with a light-ray and it stopped it completely. She stretched her arms, getting used to her new body.

Dai adjusted the frequency of his barrier, forming a metallic blue colored sphere above his hand.

How about this one? I'll went with a two-way mirror approach. Light can get out, but not in.

Just for the fun of it, he changed the sphere into different animal shapes. Then he made a few more an had them run around. His field manipulation system had gotten a major overhaul.

I can make solid barriers too, by compressing carbon. Watch.

A diamond band formed around Lights arm. It was 100% pure and flawless. Carbon compression was extremely energy consuming, so he didn't use it often.

If you can make diamond bands out of the air. Why even bother having a corporation? Would be more efficient to make a few thousand of you to make stuff out of carbon and just sell that. Anyway, A two way mirror blocks some but not all light. So it would have to be a barrier that blocks all light for it to be efficient.

Hotaru started working on her next substitute body.

He huffed, using her head as an armrest. Seeing what was on the screen made him frown in confusion.

Hm? What do you need that for? Not satisfied with yourself? An I thought my twin sister was the only girl that silly. Your not helping your self confidence at all by doing that, ya know. Your just gonna keep seeing flaws in yourself where there aren't any. 

Dai didn't see what was so great about replacing parts of yourself. He had to do it all the time, an it was a total nuisance.

I hear that a lot. Though when in my original form. The people i encounter start making fun of me. It's confusing because I love my original form. But I suppose I look too different for their liking. So I decided to create a set of perfect forms that they cannot possibly complain about. And in return i treat them all like dirt.

Hotaru stated as she kept typing. She was pretty upset again, now that she thought about how she thought her family turned on her.

People call me a non-boy all the time, but I look a million times better than them, so who cares what they think? I can shut them up whenever I feel like it.

He took off his hat, playing with it.

My family does it too, but I know they're just playing around with me. Family does that kinda annoying thing with each other. It's like part of the package. I do the same thing to them. There's tons of stuff I can make fun of about my siblings.

It was kinda funny that his own partner thought his head made a good kick ball. But that was Nadia for you. He knew full well that Myla wasn't that interested in sports, she just liked getting to freely kick and stomp his face.

Your welcome. If you want a lot of compliments, you just need to find your theme. A charm that draws people to you, even if you treat them like sometime scrapped off the bottom of your shoe.

Some of the Creed kids are really good at that. Cara is super popular...even though she keeps putting people in the emergency room.

Dai studied Zelena intently, trying to determine what her popularity draw would be. She was smart, cool, and unique. The potential was there....

This was tougher than he thought.

This would be a lot easier if I knew more about you than just your name. What...kinda...stuff do you like?

Man this felt awkward. He'd never cared about knowing more about a person than what to call them before.

Your missing a very important detail. You need to make them look up to you in turn. To acknowledge your superiority. To know your a better person than them in every way. To see you as flawless. That your always right an always know what's best. If you can pull that off, you can just walk all over people as you please an nobody will complain. 

He grinned.

Its best to start practicing with family, that way its not a big deal when you mess up. An once you've got those close to you happy being under your heel, you can use them as stepping stones on your path to greatness by showing off your perfect family to everyone. This works best with kids. They're easier to train, an everyone adores a lady with cute, talented children.

The only way to truly be perfect was to train the world to see you as such.

This was weird. Had he ever spoken this much before? He didn't think so.

Wouldn't it be fun to sit back an watch them come crawling back to you, begging you to come home? It's not hard to do. Families don't break easily. They like to stay together, even if their too stubborn to admit it. If they believe it's their fault you went away, they'll give you whatever you like to  come home. Even better, they'll be more careful to make you happy from now on so you don't leave again. Take total advantage of that.

Dai was feeling comfortable showing his true nature around this person. Maybe he'd reveal the half of his skill set that wasn't public knowledge to her....

When Dario came over an leaned in to listen, Dai kicked him hard in the face, knocking him flat on the floor.

Dai just sat there looking down at him with his usual expression.

That happy happy act was getting on my nerves.

So why'd  only I get hit?

Dario sat up holding his nose, a footprint on his face. Dai shrugged.

Cause your my brother, stupid.  Your too smart to be asking dumb questions like that. 

.....that's some strange logic, yet I can't argue with it at all.

Dai nodded. Of course not. If you needed to hit someone, it was common sense to hit the person you were close to. They wouldn't raise a big fuss about it.

Catching his reflection in a mirror, he paused to wipe the footprint off his face. 

I'm head of the Tech R&D division. Technological innovation is our forte. It's where we Machina were born and are upgraded.

He jerked a thumb off to the side.

Then you've got elder brother Chaos. He's head of Arms R&D. They deal in anything related to weapons and warfare. Most of our battle gear is made there.

While telling her about the company and her options, he led the way to the employee lounge.

It seems we have been quite busy in such a short time. Working within the lines will do. But not these lines.

She opened her white portal and walked in, leaving it open for Zelena to bring the other two.
