Some Time Later. Hide was seated, facing a corner in Victor's office after being scolded viciously by Genevieve.

"So this is what it's like to have a mother. Terrifying."

Hide shuddered when she thought of Eve's expression.

Genevieve entered from the elevator and walked right over to her father's desk. She stood in front of it with her usual pose.

Genevieve: Explain why Linda Miller works here.

Genevieve waited to hear what he had to say about her working there.

Genevieve continued the stare down.

Genevieve: For a moment I thought you may have been planning an operation to assassinate her as revenge for her killing me once. I'm glad to hear that isn't the case. The grievance I hold with her is mine and mine alone. Wasting company resources for something so small would be disappointing. I'll avenge my own death at the very moment when she can no longer be a benefit to us.

Genevieve's eyes moved to the corner she left Hide in.

Genevieve: Mother........I fail to see any potential benefits of bringing that beast inside the building. However it has brought up some issues that need to be addressed. Most of the staff isn't mentally stable enough for work here, the response teams are incredibly slow, the structure is far too weak and security is tragically understaffed. Also, the Machina who work in the building aren't properly trained for significant threats such as Cerberus. Also, Licorice should be watching mother at all times yet she is nowhere to be found.

Genevieve took a seat and made herself a cup of tea.

Genevieve: I have decided to join Carabosse. Her heart is always in the right place, but she struggles in making tougher choices. I do believe there is something for me to learn in her company as well. I ask permission to do so.

Genevieve took a sip of her tea.

Genevieve nodded to Luce.

Genevieve: A fresh pot of tea will do nicely, thank you.

Genevieve looked back to her father.

Genevieve: I have a suggestion. Among the Machina, none of them are more skilled than Alita. Alita learned from several masters of various martial arts. I think you should grant them all time to do the same. Seek a master to learn from. It would serve them all better than anything they would learn here. It will also do them all good in terms of bonding with their partners on these quests.

Genevieve took another sip of her tea. She thought it was terrible but didn't let it show on her face. She started the cup so she had to finish it.

Genevieve: That of course, doesn't include Samantha. I think she's all but perfected her own style. And i'm sure she would be more than happy to take on that task. She's as ambitious as she is intelligent.

Genevieve finished her cup of tea reluctantly.

Genevieve nodded and stood up.

Genevieve:Thank you father. I will take my leave now. At least one of us will likely make an attempt to not show up tomorrow. I'll make sure she gets here in time.

Genevieve left to find her sister.
