Dr. Stein was pissed. He finally got a day off, an he'd been literally yanked out of bed to deal with a dead kid an her disembodied soul.

Well, since you kept her heart and lungs pumping, cellular decay is minimal.

Skylar was floating in a preservation tank, her soul stubbornly trying to jump back in.

Kids sure not ready to kick the bucket. Even if we patch up her body, how to stick her back in is a whole nother ball game.

He'd never seen an actual soul before. This was kinda freaky.

Hm....Chaos' has been researching placing a synthetic soul in a physical body for some time. Fran was the first success. It should be possible to adapt the procedure to this situation....

It would be difficult without Chaos's help, but there was no way he was going to ask him. Telling him about this would be just as bad as telling Fran. If not worse.

Selene: Hit her soul with a crap ton of energy! Doesn't matter what kind! The soul needs to be hit with tangible energy so when it enters the body on it's own, it will supply a soul spark to get her nerves working right again.

Selene folded her arms.

Selene took out her tablet and did a body scan and a soul scan on her soul.

Selene: The body's not ready. How did she drown? Her lungs aren't even filled with water. Whatever, her body isn't in condition to be brought back. You have any equipment lying around. I'm gonna make a healing ray gun.

Selene hoped they had something that could be remade into a ray gun.

Dario shrugged.

She literally dropped dead while talking to me. I pumped a ton of water out while trying to get her breathing. Scared the heck outa me. I imagine someone musta cursed her.

He took out his holo-pad. It was the replacement for his old laptop. A small disk that projected a hard light keyboard and touch screen.

I've never heard of a healing ray gun, but go ahead an look in the equipment locker if you want some stuff to work with. I'm going to start her nano-surgery.
